Composite NVQs

These standards are written and approved by industry under guidance of National Training Organisations and they identify criteria for practical performance and technical understanding that is expected to perform specific job roles.

We have been contracted by SEMTA as lead consultants for the last two iterations of the UK’s National Occupational Standards for composites.

Competence is being able to do something and understand why it is done that way.  This comes after training and practice and indicates the actual ability and skills of the candidate, not the potential.

The training and practice stages, although key to skills development, do not necessarily need to be linked to the achievement of an NVQ.  The competence stage directly relates to any NVQ qualifications.

The quality of NVQ programmes and the benefits to a business are highly dependent upon the knowledge and experience of the training provider and relevant experience to what the customer does.

We have a proven track record with NVQs, from writing the previous and current national standards through to running large programmes at the customer’s site.

In our view, the most important outcome of an NVQ programme is a positive change of thinking and approach within the workforce to the work being produced.
