Air Router Tool Kits

Our air router kits allow parts to be abraded, rebated, trimmed and modified either free hand or by using jigs.

The combination of Dynabrade air routers with special purpose diamond and carbide cutters allows routing in a wide range of composite laminates and sandwich panels.

Paired with one of our portable dust extraction units, the on-tool extraction is highly effective at removing the dust generated at point of source, to the extent that it eliminates the need for containment curtains and dust masks during the routing activity.

DMP0145
Small Air Router Kit

This router is suited to intricate routing through laminates and sandwich panels.

Combining a lightweight Dynabrade air motor with a bespoke extraction shroud, this tool is small enough to hold in one hand, weighing 830g in total.  The shroud has been designed to get the best dust capture around the entire tool head, allowing it to be used in any direction.

The small routing kit is supplied with bespoke fluted diamond cutters, with two grit sizes, to remove material along the laminate leaving a clean edge.  This easy to handle router is highly effective when trimming both intricate and large parts in open shop floor areas and on-site.  It is particularly suited to marine production, sandwich panel fabrications, construction sites and aerospace parts that do not fit into a trim room.

Kit Contents:
  • 223W / 0.3hp air motor
  • Twist speed control, variable up to 25,000 rpm
  • ¼” Dynaswivel and Hi Flow airline connection
  • 1 ¼” swivel vacuum extraction connection
  • Stainless steel collar, guide base and vacuum assembly
  • Full wrap around vacuum shroud designed specifically for the router
  • Supplied with full set of spanners required for assembly & adjustment of the router
  • Depth increments of 1mm, 0.25mm & 0.05mm with laser engraved scales on router assembly
  • Two 6mm diamond coated fluted cutters with 44/60 & 60/85 grit sizes
  • 26mm outside diameter guide base, designed as a jig follower to give a 10mm cutter offset between guide and cutter
  • Threaded base to allow fitment of bespoke followers/guides to suit the users needs, if required

Advice for Dust Free Operations
This advice applies specifically to the use of this air tool kit with our portable extractors DMP0120 & DMP0123.
  • Air tool speed = 12,000-15,000rpm (approx. half speed)
  • Cutting tool = 6mm diameter fluted diamond cutter (DMP0145-SP01)
  • Extractor requirements = 40m3/hr at 19,500Pa (identified in extractor instruction manuals)

During extensive trials, no airborne dust was present with the materials listed below.  In some cases, small localised debris between 1-4mm maybe projected locally, which falls but does not become airborne.  The presence of debris varies dependant upon the quality of the laminate and the feed rate used.  We have much more information available, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
